LettersThey invented a language for it.  The language was something they spoke when it was dark and they could not light a candle.  The language created a small pool of light that they could stretch and shape with words, like longing and succinct and prayerful.  The words rolled and tumbled from them, and the light played and shone, shrank and grew, danced and hovered.  It was like nothing else they had ever known.
