All the week we have been counting down the days until the end. My friends and I made an agreement we would wait all week before we gave in. We would hold off checking Facebook, Twitter, even email for seven days.
Seven days go by, slowly at first. Being disconnected has its challenges. We’re all addicted more than we think we are. But we hold fast to the promise. We go unconnected cold-turkey.
It’s Day 8 that matters. What will we do when our one-week pact has elapsed and we are no longer bound by our agreement? That’s what tells a person’s character, that’s what leads to truth.
Or so I tell my friends. When I sign back in to Facebook.
