Independent Film Festival I

MovieIt was Ryan’s last day shooting the documentary.   I went to my job as a temp receptionist that morning.   He was filming the Portland indie rock scene. He said the shooting would be done by noon.  I asked if he wanted to grab a drink after work to celebrate.  He said he’d have to work late on the editing, I shouldn’t wait up.

I went to the set after work, his friend Martin’s loft in The Pearl.  Martin let me in.

Too late, I saw it all.  He was lying to me – the long shoots, the late night working sessions.

(see next post “Awards” . . .)
